Essex & Suffolk Border League Match Report 12/05/12 Premier Division The top two places were finally put to rest as West Bergholt met Harwich & Parkeston at Lorkin Daniel Field. West Bergholt had already taken the title, and were in celebratory mood, whilst Harwich knew that if they won this game and results went their way second place was theirs, and with the result going 2-1 in favour of Harwich is was congratulations all round as West Bergholt were present with the league trophy and Gary Wood took the manager of the month trophy following a run of nineteen matches unbeaten, seventeen wins and two draws, that was only ended by Harwich. Gas Recreation are still pushing for third spot and with Newbury Forest coming to the 'Gas' with an eye on runners up spot it was set for a cracking match. Gas opened the scoring, but as the match went into the second half Newbury went looking for the equaliser, but this just spurred gas on and they added another to make the final score 2-0 and end Newbury's hopes of some league silverware this season, though their Essex County Cup victory will be a pretty good consolation. Lawford Lads hosted Little Oakley and despite the end of seasons a full blooded affair ended in a 2-2 draw, and Alresford Colne Rangers travelled to Rowhedge and won 5-1. White Notley look like they have begun building for next season as they defeated Holland FC 3-2. First Division Haverhill Sports Association beat Earls Colne 4-0 in their penultimate league game, and Coggeshall Town moved into fourth spot with a 5-0 victory over Foxash Social. Colne Engaine & Bell United signed off their season with a 3-1 win over Barnston AFC. Reserve Premier Division The slender championship hopes of Alresford Colne Rangers were finally put to bed as they drew 2-2 with Great Bentley Reserves, and University of Essex Reserves beat Holland FC Reserves 5-2. |

This is a breach of the rules and will be dealt with if reported by either a match official, league official or the opposition. Attention is drawn to page 99, Appendix One of the rule book. Any club in breach of these rules will be charged appropriately. All clubs are also reminded that referees, officials and visiting teams should be treated with respect as per the FA guidelines. Failure to do so could result in clubs being charged with bringing the game into disrepute. |
